Carmen Schools of Science and Technology is a Milwaukee, Wisconsin network of non-instrumentality public charter schools (K-12) authorized through Milwaukee Public Schools (Middle and High Schools) and UW- Milwaukee (Middle & Elementary).

What does the employment application process look like at Carmen?
- Step 1: Complete Online Application: All applicants are asked to complete an application to formally express interests in any position(s).
- Step 2: Initial Interview: The recruiting team will invite applicants that move into this step to respond to several interview questions in a video or written format.
- Step 3: In-Person or Virtual Interview: Applicants will be asked to participate in a formal interview that involves various school leaders across the Network. Interview activities include a performance task focused on content knowledge, activities that demonstrate growth mindset, and role-play exercises.
- Step 4: Background & References: We want to hear all about your great work! Our recruiting team will initiate background and reference checks.
- Step 5: Offer Notification: The recruiting team will notify all applicants that completed an in-person interview of their status and issue offer letters to join Carmen!

What if I do not have a teaching license, but I want to become a teacher. Is that possible?
- Yes! There are various programs designed to help non-traditional educators achieve a teaching license (for example, Milwaukee Teacher Education Center and Teach for America). However, a Charter School Teacher license is also available to anyone with a bachelor’s degree and one of the following additional qualifications:
- Transcript(s) documenting completion of a major or minor in the core subject(s); or,
- Passing score(s) on Praxis II exam in the core subject(s)
- Transcript(s) documenting completion of a major or minor in the core subject(s); or,
