RIGOR
TEACHER SPECIALIZATION
We support teachers to be well-versed in their content. Teachers plan and execute for specific content areas. By having teachers laser focused on particular subjects, students receive high quality, focused instruction, and we accelerate the academic impact for students. SMALL GROUP INSTRUCTION
Students receive tailored small group instruction from lead and co-teachers who serve as the second educator in the room. In these groups, students engage in lessons designed for their ability levels and are given attention and support not always available in full class instruction. |
STRUCTURE
SAFE AND JOYFUL ENVIRONMENT
Students begin their day with teachers meeting them at the car door. They receive a free and nutritious breakfast and engage in Morning Motivation. Students recite the creed and wake their bodies with a variety of songs and dances. Learning begins with a warm welcome and joy. DATA DRIVEN PRACTICE
Teachers use data to inform instruction on an ongoing basis. Data collected daily is used to create strategic groupings. Interim assessments help identify trends within grades and classes to inform teaching and learning. |
JOY
SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING
Achievement gaps can widen when social-emotional needs are not met. Students engage in mindfulness exercises to learn how to effectively manage emotions. These skills help all students, including those who have experienced personal trauma, in the immediate and through their lives. FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
Families participate in monthly events including "Literacy Nights" and "Parent Cafes" that share strategies on how support learning at home and engage in the community. Families commit to 10+ hours of school engagement in a year. |
